Chris’ Cool Cars: 2023 Honda Civic Type R

Last week, Honda unveiled its highly anticipated 2023 Honda Civic Type R. They promise it will be the most powerful Type R to date, but they haven’t yet told us how powerful. Either way, it’s certainly a cool car. Here are some fun facts….

Fans of manual transmissions rejoice! As of right now, the three-pedal manual transmission is the only option, so I f you can’t drive a stick-shift, you are out of luck. Honda promises it will have more power than the outgoing Type R, which had 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. So it’s probably safe to say that we should see power between 306 and 325 horsepower. Honda also tells us that the new car is not on an all new chassis, but on an evolution of the previous chassis.

Pricing is estimated to start around $39,000 and we should start to see them on dealer lots early in 2023. If you want one, get on the waiting list now!
