The most important step before you install any ceramic coating is the last step… removing any and all compounding and polishing oils using a product like P&S Paint Prep.
Although many detailers will use some form of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) as a panel wipe, we feel it is important to use a product that is either manufactured by or recommended by the company that makes the ceramic coating you are installing.
For example, if you are installing P&S Inspiration, then use P&S Paint Prep. If you are installing a Gtechniq coating, then use Gtechniq’s Panel Wipe. If you are installing an IGL coating, then use IGL’s Precoat. You get the picture.
Whatever you do, don’t skip this step. By using the proper products to prep the paint, you will ensure that the coating bonds to the car as well as it can.
