Chris’ Cool Cars: MINE’S R32 Skyline GT-R
These days, when you hear the term restomod, it’s easy to picture American muscle cars and vintage 911s. But restomodding is also popular in Japan, and the MINE’S R32 Skyline GT-R proves that they are very good at it…
Founded by Miichizo Niikura in 1985, MINE’S has built an amazing reputation on the R32, R33, and R34 Nissan Skyline. This particular R32 has a hand-built RB26 2.8-liter engine making 496 horsepower and spins to 8,000 RPM. Custom Ohlins dampers with Hyperco springs combines with Brembo brakes make sure this exceeds all expectations in the handling department.
MINE’S fully disassembles the car for restoration. It then receives fresh paint, carbon fiber pieces, and an upgraded interior. The whole process creates a 30 year old GT-R that is good to go for at least another 30 years and rides, drives and performs better than new!
