Detail Mafia Members Preserve and Protect a Wildland Type 3 Fire Engine
This past weekend, a small group of Detail Mafia members converged on Pollock Pines, California to detail, paint correct and ceramic coat a Wildland Type 3 Fire Engine for El Dorado County Fire Station 28 Engine 328.
The engine was first put into service in 2008. In that time, it had sustained a lot of UV damage on the hood and roof. The light bar had begun to yellow, and there were severe scratches, marring and swirls from all the action it has seen.
The team of volunteers from The Detail Mafia completed a two-step paint correction using polishing pads that were generously donated by Buff and Shine Manufacturing, and detailing supplies donated by P&S Detailing Products. Once all the hard work was done, the team coated the engine with P&S Inspiration Legend Ceramic Coating.
A big shout out to Samantha Sweeden, owner of Bella Vita Mobile Detailing for organizing the project. Also, a big thanks to volunteers Kelly Mankin, Adam Garvin, Jerald Beasley, Zach Bernal, Ryan DaSilva and Chris Tabieros for taking the time away from their businesses, hitting the road and making this project a huge success.
