“Improvise, Adapt, Overcome”
I love these three words. They were spoken many times in the movie Heartbreak Ridge by Clint Eastwood’s character, Marine Gunnery Sergeant Tom Highway. No matter who we are, what we do, or where we are in life, our ability to put these words into practice is the basic framework for our success.
Anyone who faces obstacles or wishes to achieve a goal (let’s face it, that means all of us) will have a better chance of success if they learn to improvise, adapt and overcome. It’s not just done through your actions, it’s done in your mindset too… Don’t give up!
• Find new ways (Improvise)
• Keep an open mind (Adapt)
• Execute (Overcome)
This type of creativity is essential to entrepreneurs. You must repeat the process and persevere until the goal is accomplished. Finding new ways to solve problems is what being a small business owner is all about, and what makes it so much fun!
