Think About the Lifestyle You Want!
When thinking of your detailing business, think about the lifestyle you wish to have. Maybe you are in your thirties or forties, enjoy time with family, and spending time doing what you love to do. If you want a lifestyle-based business, building a volume-based detailing business is not going to match your lifestyle wishes.
Some of you reading this may be young, in your twenties and you have big ideas and bigger goals. You are young and this is a great time to work your butt off, so maybe starting out with a high-volume shop is the answer for you.
Those who have succeeded at the highest levels are quality-based detailers concentrating on better servicing fewer clients. It’s no secret I’m getting older, but I’m young enough to remember my twenties and thirties and how important it was to be the biggest and baddest detailer. If I may, that was stupid thinking. Concentrate on being the best and the most profitable and enjoy life. Those six-day workweeks were a waste and knowing what I know now and what I am sharing with you today could have provided me with many more five-day workweeks, which could have built many more memories doing fun stuff and working a tad less. Do as I am doing now, not as I did then!
